Abstract This thesis covers the examination of a climatic chamber of the "Virtual Vehicle Research and Test Center" (ViF) as an aeroacoustic test station for air conditioning systems. The chamber consists of several components that emit noise depending on its operating point. The free jet of the evaporator wind tunnel is of particular interest for future aeroacoustic measurements. To collect the aeroacoustic properties and analyzing the noise, measurement methods of architectural acoustics, acceleration analysis and the suitability test of anechoic rooms were applied. The valid measurement range for anechoic aeroacoustic measurements is determinated by the acoustic properties of the climatic chamber and the emitted noise depending on the operating point. A tool was developed to calculate the noise level in the free jet of the evaporator wind tunnel with respect to the operating point. This results in the minimum sound pressure level for valid measurements. To ensure anechoic conditions while maintaining the determined minimum sound pres- sure level, a procedure for aeroacoustic measurements was described. Finally, measures to optimize the climate chamber were elaborated.
